june’s attack on waterford in the study was legitimately enough to satisfy any need i’ve ever had. this was such an intense and loaded personal dig that just confirmed his absolute worst fears after he’s been forcing her to live out a horrifying nightmare for years. if the entire series ended on that line alone tbh i would’ve been content

It’s funny I just made a post sort of about this so it might be repetitive but while everything is messy and fucked up and complicated, I think it’s clear that June loves Nick and the reason why I think it’s clear is because there are moments in almost every one of their scenes that show this.
I think we have the more direct moments:

and the more direct gestures/facial cues:

But what makes it clear for me, are the moments between that, because that’s when you see her struggle and attempt to reconcile all of her situations.
Like I mentioned this before, in 2x03, I think their hug is important, not only because June turns away from Nick and then turns back to him for an embrace:

but because we watch her slowly give into how she feels about the embrace:

and it’s like in 2x09, which I mentioned last week too. After hearing about Luke and Moira and having that life reawakened sort of within her, when Nick tells her he loves her, she can’t say it back:

but when he leans in to kiss her on the cheek, she’s giving into that intimacy and to what she feels and living in that moment with Nick too:

and it should be noted that her facial expression in 2x09 is different than 2x06:

and even beforehand in 2x06, Nick is Nick, he’s honest and vulnerable and straightforward about what he feels:

and you see June’s face, she’s actively resisting, she’s actively shutting it down in her mind and then she shuts it down out loud:

then there’s a beat, there’s an intimacy in their closeness and you see her facial expression change, see her resistance falter

and she can’t shut it down anymore:

and then in 2x07, as I already mentioned, she has the “what about you?” line and they have the passionate kiss

but it’s this that I find telling:

because she allowed herself to give in completely, lose herself completely, and be with Nick and this reaction is a culmination of things I think, I mean they could get caught in this moment, they’re risking everything in this moment, she’s telling herself to get a grip because of this, but I also think it’s a self-admonishment because she allowed herself to just love Nick with that kiss.
And then you have this episode.

This is legit joy. This is them, in that moment, living that life they think about and this is post re-realization.
Plus there’s the hug after Hannah leaves which I wrote about here: http://zalrb.tumblr.com/post/175089963015/i-understand-the-love-surrounding-the-expectant
So long, long story short, I think she’s in love with him. Personally, anyway ;)
Thank you @pegsccarter and @splitscreen for uploading great Nick and June gifs!
